After some technical difficulties the Disney Universe Hawaiian Adventure Sweepstakes is up. I was able to create a similar nav to the rest of the site with jQuery and then it broke when I switched from one version of jQuery to another. Turns out you need version 1.7 for the sliding effect. And then there was an issue with the sweepstakes in IE8 because of the Flash embed.

I have been working on my Christmas wish list. It's hard to do when you don't want a lot of things. At least inexpensive things. I can think of a lot of really expensive things I would like but I don't want to break anybodys bank.

I have managed to outsmart the gaming machine so that I can play games using the nVidia card instead of the onboard video. Every now and then the computer would start up using the nVidia card in DVI mode but a reboot would revert back to the onboard video in VGA mode and stay that way for a couple of weeks. So I haven't turned it off since it started up in DVI mode last week. I saw there was a driver update but I'm not going to update for as long as possible. That Batman: Arkham Asylum is a pretty fun game. When I couldn't play it because the videocard wasn't working I was thinking it wasn't so good that you just hit the punch button when you run into a bunch of henchmen but now that I can play it again, getting into brawls is really satisfying.

The Walking Dead thought of the week... Don't tell the psycho guy in your group that you know all the bad stuff he's been doing. He will kill you. It's good to see Shane finally got a new car though. I mentioned the RV last week but this week I noticed they are all driving old cars.

Time to rebuild the Nopal.net server. Stupid hard drive failures.

>More thoughts on AMC's The Walking Dead...

Can't they find a better RV? They are driving around in a beat old motorhome that is always breaking down. It's time for an upgrade.

Even if I could get a zombie out of a well in one piece, I wouldn't be drinking out of that well. And they found a water delivery truck on the highway. I would have commandeered that truck or at least taken the bottles in my new RV instead of filling up all sorts of odd bottles at the well.

My thoughts on the new season of AMC's The Walking Dead so far...

Don't let your kid walk up to a wild animal with big pointy antlers. He's not the deer whisperer. If Rick and Let Shane shoot the deer, the survivors would have been having deer burgers for a month.

Shane's plan to get the supplies from the medical trailer was pretty stupid. There are a bunch of cars sitting around. Why not drive some around and run some zombies over and then take the whole medical supplies trailer?

I can't figure out this gaming machine. I thought I had it outsmarted. It won't let me play games because it won't recognize the plugin videocard and the onboard video isn't good enough to handle the high end graphics. After a couple of months of this I got to thinking Unreal Tournament 2004 doesn't require a lot of graphics power so I booted up the DOH! Network UT server and was able to play a couple of games over the weekend. Then Monday I come home and it won't even boot up. Just has a flashing cursor. Great! the OS is toast and I have no idea where my Windows XP disc is. Then I boot it up today and not only does XP work but the plugin videocard is recognized. I need to play some games now before it breaks again.

UPDATE: I was finally able to beat that part in Arkham Asylum that I was stuck on for a couple of months.
