DOH! Wouldn't you know the gaming machine decided to use the plugin nVidia videocard instead of the onboard video. I am tempted to call in sick today and play StarCraft 2 all day.
Finally after months of trying the new Disney Insider CMS is working in dev. Thanks to a couple of people there who would actually give me some of their time, we worked through a bunch of issues only to have new issues pop up. Some I was able to figure out myself while others required going back to my resources to see if I could get more of their time. Now to document everything and get the process started to have the webmsaters set it up in the QA environment. Now on the to do list: figure out what is wrong with the send to a friend functionality in JSP, a programming language I don't know that doesn't tell report any errors. Good times.
Check out the new Avengers trailer on the movies page.
I love days when I don't have a ton of meetings. Today there are a couple but not too bad.
The new season of The Walking Dead starts this Sunday! If you missed the first season you can get caught up by watching season 1 of The Walking Dead on Netflix.
I think I am close on the Disney Insider CMS setup. After poking around I think I just need to mount the remote box so the Tomcat server config can be pointed to the other server to load the class files. The mounting part is done but nothing is showing up when i try to cd to that location. I have a couple of emails out to people who would know how to do this stuff but they are ignoring me like they usually do. I am talking to myself replying to my own emails so maybe they will respond just to get my emails to stop coming.
Disney Channel has launched their new Halloween site. I wish I could take credit for the maze creator but I didn't really have that much to do with it. It was built by a third party using Flash, PHP and MySQL. I learned some stuff from it though so hopefully that will help me with future updates on the DOH! Network.
Ya know I would breath a huge sigh of relief if I could get the Disney Insider CMS working this week. It's so close and yet so far. And then there are those that expect me to recreate what has been done to teach others. I'm gonna need to go through a lot of emails and other notes.
And what's up with stupid IE9? It still doesn't do things like other browsers. Can't it get on board with everybody else? Flash positioning is screwed up in it and I don't know why. Fixes that worked in IE8 don't have an effect on 9.
To do list for tomorrow: Get the CMS working and fix the Disney Channel nav working in IE9. Bet I don't get either resolved.
Game of Thrones on HBO is pretty good. I'm diggin' it so far. I'm only on the third episode.
