I wish I was more skilled in PHP. There are a lot of jobs available for it. I plan to improve my skills in it but I need to have a job while I am learning it. I wish I could also block jobs in Santa Monica while job hunting as well. I don't want to commute two hours 1 way every day either.

Hopefully a good omen for the day... I fixed the back window in the truck in about 30 minutes and saved $600 having to have the dealer do it. The back window stopped rolling down a couple of days ago. I could hear the solenoid clicking when trying to roll it down and the windshield wiper still worked so nothing had burned out. Applying downward pressure to the window didn't help. After googling around for a few minutes several people linked to a Toyota technical service bulletin titled Back Door Power Window Inoperative for '01 - '06 Toyota Sequoias that recommends removing a metal stopper in the door. I didn't have to remove the stopper but loosened it enough to slide it down a little and the window started working again. This part has been in the truck for 9 years and it wasn't loose so I don't know why it would happen all of a sudden but there ya go. Thanks to jimmydnsc and suess13 for the link to the service bulletin.

Which is worse? Not knowing who is looking at your profile on LinkedIn or knowing that the people looking at your profile are not the potential employers you want to be looking at it.

The old DOH! Network server is up and running again. It's pretty cool that DSL Extreme will let you set up to 8 different static IPs since I currently have 2 servers running and my main machine is another IP. Once I was able to format the main drive I was able to install Slackware 12. The CPU is too old to recognize the newer kernel in versions 13 and 14. I'm kind of bummed that I can't run the newest version of the OS. It's a lot easier to update packages compared to 12 and there are some programs I have tried to install on 12 that don't work either like Steam dedicated game servers and Plex. I wish I had the funds to buy a brand new top of the line computer to work as the server but then again, my DSL plan doesn't have enough bandwidth to host a good game anymore anyway.

I started messing around with Git on the laptop server. The current network configuration has the server on its own external IP so I can't interact with it from my main machine. One reason to get the old server working is so I can have both machines on the internal network and Git should work as expected unless it is possible to have Git connect across servers in different locations. It could do it already and I haven't found the documentation on it yet. We'll see.

DOH! Wouldn't you know I thought I could build the old backup server into the main server so I could have all my storage for movies and music again but the old servers CPU can't handle the new kernel in Slackware 14. Ok, I will put Slackware 13.37 on there. Can't find my Slackware 13.37 disc. Ok, burn a new copy of 13.37. The CPU doesn't like that kernel either. Ok, fall back to Slackware 12. Got the disc, drop it in and the computer is stuck in a rebooting loop when it tries to start up from the cd. This server use to run. I know it did. it was the main server for many years. I can't win. Stupid computers.

>The new coming soon Netflix page gave me all kinds of ideas yesterday. Knowing what is coming in the next 30 days is good but it wouldn't it be nice to know &end=' target='_parent' title='Click here to see what new movies were released in the last 30 days!'>what has been released in the last 30 days as well so you can start watching movies now? And then I got to thinking what if the next or last 30 days is too much information. What if you only want the last weeks new releases or what's new next week? Well, now you can get them with the modified DOH! Network Netflix page. Next up, adding the Netflix login so you can add movies to your queue, a calendar to select dates and making the page use responsive design so you can check out movies on mobile devices easier.

UPDATE: I just noticed the Netflix API has a limit of 500 items. I will have to break it down to filter out stuff like TV shows so more movies will show up.

I have been going through my Netflix instant streaming queue with all this free time I have had lately but I started getting curious as to when new titles are added and what I can look forward to. It turns out Netflix has some APIs available to get that information so today I made the DOH! Network Netflix Instant Streaming What's Coming Soon page! Check it out to see what new movies you can expect in the next 30 days.
