The The Walking Dead Social Game is finally fixed so I can kill zombies again. There are a lot more of them now though. I have been finding it safer to just get the food or medical supplies on those missions where that is the objective than to try and kill all of the zombies because there are too many in large groups. Always take advantage of hiding if you can. Ammo is a little bit more plentiful now too which is good for when you have to take out zombies in large groups to get by. Or you can use the 'Make a Noise' feature to get zombies to move out of an area where you need to be. There isn't much to do now that I have finished episode 1. Mainly getting supplies and keeping moral up. I am trying to max out all of my skills. I probably should have started with stamina but I almost have that completed and then finish off shooting and I will be unstoppable. I hope. I haven't seen the level 5 zombies yet. I will probably need to upgrade my weapons some more when they start showing up.

What is up with Slackware and php? I have been having issues with php the last couple of days. Actually longer than that but the last couple of days I have been able to sit down and really look at the problem. A clean install without any of the gui stuff has been causing an issue with a library not loading. In the process of trying to fix it I ended up screwing it up more and so I reinstalled. And then I made the mistake of trying to go with the 'Current' build. For some reason it doesn't find my network card when I do that so I am back to v13.37. I saw a version of Slackware 14 is now available too. I was hoping I could go with the 'Current' version so I could always update but it looks like that is not the case. I think I will need to pick p a Raspberry Pi server to mess around with so I am not always taking down the DOH! Network server when I try to mess around with it. I am kicking myself for not keeping the old backup server around longer.

UPDATE: I just figured out why php isn't storing cookies. When I ran the slackpkg update the apache user changes from root to nobody. The location where php stores its cookies needs to have its owner changed as well. This is probably what happened with the Disney Channel Monster Maze Mania app as well since the admin issue was similar.

UPDATE #2: Ok, and MySQL is working now. My fresh install of Slackware 13.37 was also not looking in the right place for host.frm. Adding the MySQL directory on startup seems to have fixed that.

I can't believe the The Walking Dead Social Game has been broken for almost a week now. The last news update I saw for the game was that it was selected to be featured on the Facebook homepage as one of the spotlight games. Then it started saying a herd of walkers broke the internet and now I am stuck in a loop.

As I sit here updating my profile on LinkedIn I can't stop thinking 'Why didn't I think of Making LinkedIn?' What is the next big idea for a website that should be built? Can I think of it before somebody beats me to it? Maybe the world is waiting for a new episode of Amazing Barry or QuakePark.

It's nice to be retired and sitting at home watching the rain. Only I'm laid off. Not retired.
