Got the new CPU fan in the server and went to boot it up. The videocard fan started making an insane amount of noise. Luckily I've got like 4 videocards in the garage. Swapped out the videocard and rebooted and it's all good now.

The new fan for the DOH! Network server is out for delivery. Hopefully it will get here any minute so I can replace the one that is making so much noise next to me right now.

I learned a bunch of stuff about cron jobs and sudo this week while working on Phineas and Ferb's Videomatic Groovitron. It has me inspired to make something that would require a cron job. Too bad the DOH! Network Soldier of Fortune II server isn't still running. I could have had the game stats update automatically. Crazy Knife Guy would love that since he just recently found his SoF2 install disc.

The new CPU fan has been ordered for the DOH! Network server. It should be here in a couple of days and I can get rid of the one that is making a ton of noise. I should have ordered it a couple of days ago so I could be replacing it today but I have been so busy with work I just didn't want to surf for fans when I got home.

Sweet! The Walking Dead is back with an all new episode tonight.

SteamPowered.com seems to be down at the moment so no Steam games today.

UPDATE: The Steam servers are back up. Back to gaming.

It just came to my attention that the DOH! Network TrackMania server can not be connected to from the in-game browser in TrackMania Nations Forever anymore. I have always had it in my favorites so I was always able to connect but nobody else ever plays on the server anymore and after a little research I figured out why. I totally missed the announcement that the advertising servers Nadeo used to promote the game were shut down so they can't advertise the game anymore inside the game. So they have changed it to be a smaller circle of Speedzone servers that free version players can connect to. It is still possible to connect to the DOH! Network server by adding it to your list of favorites though. To do that, open TrackMania Nations United and then once logged in, click Explorer and entering tmtp://#addfavourite=doh_network into the address bar. Another server that may interests you... tmtp://#addfavourite=bluesnewsdotcom, the official Blue's News TrackMania server. And if you like the game, why not think about purchasing the full version with more tracks outside of the stadium and custom cars.

Speaking of Blue's News I saw over on Blue's site that keys for the Tribes Ascend beta are now available. I remember when the original Tribes came out and how much I hated it because I could not figure out the jetpacks. I could never make it to the first floating platform so I spent the entire round running around on the ground. Then when Tribes 2 came out, I was able to get around much better and it was one of my favorite games. The Deathcon WAN had several servers running at the time. Then most of the servers were retired or crashed or Deathcon crew members went on to other games. I tried to set one up a couple of years ago but I couldn't get all the Linux files required to run it so I gave up. Hopefully this version will have Linux server files so we can boot them up again but it looks like it may be a free to play game and those servers are usually hosted on company servers so they can do microtransactions. We'll have to wait and see. Click here to read more about the Tribes Ascend beta and to get your key. (Thanks Blue's News )
