Check out the DOH! Network's official interview with Justin Giddings of Bite Me!

DOH! Network: Justin. Bite Me. When can we expect episode 6?

Justin Giddings: Soon.

There you have it. Episode 6 of Bite Me is coming soon.

Update on the old bachelor: The old bachelor is on buyer #6. This one might actually go through. Fingers crossed. Two totally unrelated sources have commented on my roof jump into the pool this month. Sadly I don't have the best picture of the jump and the video is lost somewhere in the boxes in the garage. I might have to pay a visit to the bachelor pad before it completes escrow.

My thoughts on Facebook versus Google +? Google + is a lot more clicky-draggy. Other than that they are pretty much the same. See what a bunch of people you don't really talk to all that much are doing at any point during the day.

An update on my July 2 bad code day...

1. The new content item I created for the Disney Insider site was not being recongized because the jsp templates weren't loading it.

2. I finally got the Disney Channel 'What's On Tonight' module loading again. Or at least I fixed the second issue. It may have started working when the webmasters restarted the service but I found it needs to have some value in the e-mail field and I may have removed that at some point during my troubleshooting.

3. The person that set up the Disney Music ECD survey in the database combined the available choices for two questions into one question so the Cars Soundtrack had an extra question that was screwing up the survey.

I got a new pc at work the other day. I have never seen an upgrade perform slower than the previous machine. My previous machine was a 2007 xp box and this new Windows 7 box takes forever to do some things like transfer files from preview to live in Beyond Compare. Programs crash a lot too. Must be the 64 bit system not liking older software. I was sad to hear Adobe discontinued Homesite, my HTML editor of choice. Luckily they found a 2009 copy lying around that they installed for me.

Ok. Maybe I didn't figure out how to get the videocard card to always come up instead of the onboard video. I can get it to start by running Portal 2 for a couple of minutes on the onboard video and then rebooting though.

I have been trying to get all the achievements I can in the Steam Summer Camp without having to buy any games and somehow I ended up in Team Fortress 2's list ov achievements and there are a lot more in there now. There's a bunch having to do with uploading videos to YouTube and stuff. I need to get back in there and play some more. There were already a bunch I haven't achieved yet and now all these YouTube ones should keep me busy for a while.

As always happens before a holiday weekend, everything I touched yesterday was guaranteed to fail.

1. The Disney Insider email template couldn't be created because the class file created by my new content item in the content management system would not compile. Three engineers looked at it and said 'It should be working'.

2. The Disney Channel 'What's On Tonight' schedule module would only update on the QA proxy when I followed the steps to force it to update on live. According to the guy that originally set it up, the QA proxy never works so I got the environment that never works to work and the live site is broken.

3. The Disney Music ECD survey was broken because the api it needs was missing. I was able to get that put back in place but then the ECD survey page broke and I didn't do anything to that page.

Luckily the producers were cool with not launching the Phineas and Ferb 2D Yourself update till next week because I can guarantee that if I launched it yesterday, it would have broken.

In other news, I think I figured out how to be sure the gaming machine will use the nVidia card instead of the onboard video. I have to turn on the monitor before turning on the computer.

Thanks to a new California law that taxes websites for selling products and Amazon.com terminating its associates program it looks like I don't need to have Amazon.com banners all over the site anymore. The music widget has already been removed (good thinking on my part to make that a php widget). Now to remove the couple of banners I had on ohter pages. I haven't heard of any issues with Google so maybe I will replace Amazon with Ad Sense where they fit.

I need to figure out how to write start up scripts for the couple of processes I run on the server that don't restart when the server reboots.
