New site design launched. I decided to go simpler and not a lot going on to make the modules easier to share across multiple pages. Plus I liked the look of the Google Developers site I saw the other day.

Work has officially announced Intrnet Explorer 8 is no longer supported as of our next release. I am happy and sad. Happy because of all the hacks and workarounds required to support a browser that runs our application really badly but sad because I won't have to remember all those hacks and workarounds anymore and that would stink if I left this position and interviewed for a position at another company that still supports IE8. Hopefully other companies are doing away with IE8 in the near future if they haven't already.

Just finished watching Transformers: Age of Extinction yesterday. What does it say about a Transformers movie that I only made it half way through and stopped to go to bed only to forget I was watching it for two weeks and then when I did rejoin it, I had to back up like 20 minutes because I totally forgot what was going on. Stanely Tucci was good but I found myself hoping it would end sooner.

I did not realize how old the code on QuakePark.com was. While fixing the Google analytics, I was hit with no DOCTYPE, tables for layout and a bunch of DOM elements in all caps. I think the site redesign I was thinking of might start with something small like updating that site before the DOH! Network. Wish me luck.

Just sitting here wondering why my uploads to the server are so slow. Duh! It's because moving it to the other room is using existing wiring that is only transferring data at 100 Mbps. Looks like I need to move the server back to the office.

I miss the good old days of being laid off when I had time to do code redesigns. Now I have all these little widgets that I don't have the time to integrate into the site. It would probably help if I had some artistic skills to come up with a fresh new look for the site. I have ideas but they never look quite as good as I thought they would when I finish. Too bad we don't have an artist on retainer anymore.
