DOH! No Modern Warfare 2 free weekend for me. I didn't check the specs but found out when I tried to start it that it requires pixel shader 3 and my ATI card doesn't have it. If you do have it though, the free weekend has been extended to 10am Monday.

Mac users can now sign up to beta test the new Mac version of Steam. Sign up now if you are on a Mac and soon you too can be playing Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead and Portal without having to dual boot your machine. You'll have to create a free Steam account and answer some questions and then sit back and wait for your invite.

Just in time to miss Steam's 50% sale on all Quake games, I have started up a classic Quake 2 Lithium server on the DOH! Network. It's not on the games server stats page yet but you can check out the quick and dirty cgi version of the Q2 server by clicking here.

The trailer for the fourth installment of Resident Evil is now online. Alice is still fighting zombies only this time they are in stereoscopic 3D thanks to James Cameron's Fusion Camera System.

I've been hearing rumors of a re-org at work some time this month. The word on the street is that I am safe but some people I work with may be kicked to the curb.

Borderlands is on sale for 50% off this weekend over on SteamPowered.com. No word from Valve on when Steam will be released for the Mac more than this month. Too bad Valve doesn't give ya anything for referring friends because I have a couple of Mac buddies ready to play as soon as it's available.

ShackNews has a sweet new trailer for Black Rock Studios Split/Second and even better it looks like it will be released for the PC. When I was at E3 a year or two ago playing it on the Xbox, the guy demo-ing it said it wasn't going to be on the PC.
